This song was birthed so naturally in a rehearsal that we had to put it on the record. It’s a spooky, gothic-rock anthem, dynamically charged, and just a banger of a tune. Easily misunderstood as a song just poking at certain religious dogmas, (which it does) it’s actually a bit broader than that. As I looked into the concept and psychology of the sought after “golden fix”, I found that salvation is promised by more than just religion.
For instance, specific cola companies claim to hold the key to our happiness in their products. In fact many corporations will go to crazy lengths to lure us in, playing on our deepest fears or most primal desires with no remorse--even if their “golden” products are part of what distracts us from answering our true calling and finding our true happiness.
